Five-minute start

The mod works in the background. There is no rarity station or new recipe to learn.

1. Get a piece of equipment

Weapons, armor, shields, pickaxes, axes, shovels, and hoes can receive random rarity. Crafting, chest loot, mob drops, trades, /give, Creative inventory, and other mods all feed into the same reveal system.

2. Look for Rarity: ???

??? means the item has a random pool but has not revealed its result yet. Merely hovering it does not roll the item.

3. Put it in your main hand

Select the item on your hotbar. Its rarity is rolled once and stored on that stack.

Logging in or respawning also reveals missed equipment already in your inventory, armor slots, or offhand.

4. Read the tooltip

The tooltip can contain three different pieces of information:

Section What it means
Rarity: Rare This item's permanent rarity result
« Rare Bonus » (×1.25) Multiplier used on its configured stat package
[ Utility Perks ] Special perks rolled by a pickaxe, axe, shovel, or hoe

Common items receive no rarity stat bonus or utility perks.

5. Equip or use it

  • Hold combat weapons to receive applicable attack bonuses.
  • Wear armor in its correct slot for armor-related bonuses.
  • Use utility tools normally for passive perks such as Break Efficiency or Durability Guard.
  • Hold Sneak while breaking to activate Vein Miner, Timber, or Excavation.
  • Break mature crops with a perked hoe to use its harvest effects.

6. Chase another roll

The mod does not reroll, level, or ascend an existing item. Obtain another fresh copy if you want:

  • a higher rarity;
  • more utility perks;
  • different perk names;
  • stronger perk tiers.

Player Luck, Looting, Fortune, difficulty, dimension, and the source of the item do not improve its rarity roll. Only the item's configured weight pool matters.

A simple gear upgrade

A Rare diamond sword uses its 1.25× multiplier on the diamond sword's configured bonus. A newly crafted Legendary diamond sword uses . The Legendary item is better because it scales the same package more strongly—not because the entire vanilla sword damage is doubled.
